Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den (TUD), as a Uni­ver­sity of Excel­lence, is one of the lea­ding and most dyna­mic rese­arch insti­tu­ti­ons in the coun­try. at the next pos­si­ble date in a BMWK fun­ded pro­ject „Reco­very and reuse of elec­tro­lyte salts and sol­vents“. Col­la­bo­ra­tion pro­ject bet­ween two indus­trial part­ners, renown for bat­tery rese­arch, and the TU Dres­den. The posi­tion is limi­ted for 24 mon­ths. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by Fixed Term rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz WissZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion.

Working field:

Inde­pen­dent work on rese­arch towards the inves­ti­ga­tion of recep­tors for a bin­ding and extrac­tion of lithium ions and lithium salts such as lithium hexa­fluo­ro­phos­phate. In depth cha­rac­te­ri­za­tion of the obtai­ned pro­ducts via spec­tro­scopic methods such as NMR, UV-vis, IR/Raman, mass spec­tro­me­try and X-ray struc­ture deter­mi­na­tion. Per­for­mance of solid-liquid and liquid-liquid extrac­tion and strip­ping stu­dies. Deve­lop­ment of an ana­ly­ti­cal pro­ce­dure to qua­lify the per­for­med sepa­ra­tion expe­ri­ments, e.g. by ICP-OES ana­ly­sis. Scale up of the deve­lo­ped syn­the­sis and sepa­ra­tion pro­ces­ses, pre­pa­ra­tion of pro­cess spe­ci­fi­ca­ti­ons for the exe­cu­ted topics. Sum­ma­ri­zing and pre­sen­ting the results in front of a sci­en­ti­fic and/ or indus­trial audi­ence.

Requirements:

Uni­ver­sity and PhD degree in che­mi­stry; an inte­gra­tive and coope­ra­tive per­so­na­lity with high team­work abi­li­ties, self-moti­va­tion skills and orga­ni­za­tio­nal talent; inte­rest in app­li­ca­tion-ori­en­ted che­mi­cal rese­arch; deep know­ledge in inor­ga­nic-indus­trial che­mi­stry and coor­di­na­tion che­mi­stry, pre­fer­a­bly know­ledge of sepa­ra­tion pro­ces­ses such as liquid-liquid extrac­tion. PC, Micro­soft Office and che­mi­cal soft­ware hand­ling know­ledge. Con­fi­dent pre­sen­ta­tion and sum­mary of sci­en­ti­fic results in Eng­lish.
