The Department HIBEF is looking for a Postdoc (f/m/d) Development of X-ray diagnostics at EuXFEL.

Postdoc (f/m/d) Development of X-ray diagnostics at EuXFEL

Working field:

  • Development of an imaging concept for testing the feasibility of nano-accelerator concept
  • Implementation and commissioning of the developed concepts at the HED-HIBEF instrument at EuXFEL
  • Preparation and execution of experiments involving the ReLaX laser at EuXFEL
  • Support of HED/HIBEF lead scientists in developing an experimental platform with focus on IFE related science
  • Preparation of grant applications and community building focused on IFE research

Requirements:

  • Completed PhD in the field of Physics with focus on x-ray imaging on high energy density matter or comparable natural sciences
  • Relevant professional experience in the specified area
  • Phase contrast imaging and small angle scattering using hard x-ray radiation
  • Coherent imaging x-ray
  • Deep knowledge of laser plasma interaction by high intensity lasers
  • Capability of execute and analyse plasma simulation by kinetic or hydro-dynamic codes
  • Analysis and reconstruction of relevant plasma parameters from hard x-ray experimental data
  • Execution of experiments at relevant facilities such as LCLS-MEC, SACLA,EuXFEL, preferentially as principal investigator
  • Strong leadership in the field of x-ray applications for HED science, demonstrated by publication track record
  • Strong international collaborations
  • Very good knowledge of English
