At the Insti­tute of Acous­tics and Speech Com­mu­nic­a­tion, the Chair of Acous­tics and Haptics, the 6G-life Research-Hub „Digital trans­form­a­tion and sov­er­eignty of future com­mu­nic­a­tion net­works“ offers a pro­ject pos­i­tion as

start­ing as soon as pos­sible. The pos­i­tion is ini­tially lim­ited until August 14, 2025. The period of employ­ment is gov­erned by the Fixed Term Research Con­tracts Act (Wis­senschaft­szeitver­trags­ge­setz – Wis­sZeitVG). The pos­i­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­demic qual­i­fic­a­tion (e.g. PhD).

Working field:

The rese­arch activity aims to inno­vate and fabri­cate novel weara­ble devices for hap­tics, invol­ving tac­tile sen­sing and feed­back. Main respon­si­bi­li­ties: design and fabri­cate weara­ble elec­tro­nics for multi-chan­nel sen­sing and wire­less data strea­ming, collect and ana­lyze data mea­su­red with the device, demons­trate app­li­ca­ti­ons in VR sce­nes, publish the results in sui­ta­ble jour­nal arti­cles and con­fe­rence pro­cee­dings.


uni­ver­sity degree (Diploma/Mas­ter) in elec­tri­cal engi­nee­ring, com­pu­ter engi­nee­ring or other rela­ted fields; expe­ri­en­ces in elec­tro­nic pro­to­ty­p­ing, PCB design, embed­ded sys­tem; strong hand-on and pro­blem-sol­ving skills; high moti­va­tion and auto­no­mous and sci­en­ti­fic working style; open-min­ded­ness for inter­di­sci­pli­nary col­la­bo­ra­tion; very good Eng­lish skills, expe­ri­en­ces in weara­ble design and data ana­ly­sis are desi­red, know­ledge of a game engine is a plus.
