The Bark­hau­sen Insti­tute per­forms rese­arch on the latest hard­ware, soft­ware and com­mu­nic­a­tion tech­no­lo­gies and demon­stra­tes their app­lic­a­tion in tomor­row's soci­ety. Our goal is to build a flex­ible and trust­worthy IoT plat­form based on reli­able elec­tron­ics and secure com­mu­nic­a­tion meth­ods.

Rese­ar­cher Asso­ci­ate – mmWave Antenna Design

Working field:

Your respons­ib­il­it­ies will include
  • (Pri­mary) Design, facil­it­ate fab­ric­a­tion, and char­ac­ter­ize innov­at­ive antenna sys­tems at mmWave fre­quen­cies (60 GHz and above)
  • Apply meta sur­face con­cepts towards the antenna design
  • Integ­rate such anten­nas with front-end mod­ules towards emer­ging app­lic­a­tions (e.g., Joint Com­mu­nic­a­tion and Sens­ing)

Requirements:

Your pro­file
  • Above-aver­age Dip­loma/MSc or PhD (pre­fer­red) degrees in areas rela­ted to our rese­arch focus (Elec­tri­cal//Elec­tro­nic Engin­eer­ing) from renow­ned uni­ver­sit­ies
  • Good com­mu­nic­a­tion and writ­ing skills in Eng­lish
  • An integ­rat­ive and coo­per­at­ive per­son­al­ity with excel­lent com­mu­nic­a­tion and social skills
  • Strong tech­nical know­ledge and pre­fer­ably rese­arch exper­i­ence in RF pass­ive cir­cuit (e.g., antenna arrays, coup­lers, power split­ters) design, devel­op­ment and char­ac­ter­iz­a­tion in stand­ard sub­stra­tes
  • Prior exper­i­ence with 3D EM sim­u­la­tion tools
