At the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies, the Institute of German Studies and Media Cultures, invites applications for the
Chair (W2) of Didactics of German Language and Literature
to be filled at the earliest possible date.
The Chair is designed to raise the profile of research in the area of didactics of language and literature including media didactic perspectives at TUD. It is expected to provide conceptual and empirical impulses for German didactic research and to strengthen interdisciplinary connections with educational research and sociology.
You (m/f/x) will represent the field of German didactics in the teacher training programs for secondary schools, high schools, and vocational schools in the areas of literature, language and media didactics. Participation in the focus area “School and Education” in the Master’s degree “Digital Humanities” is also desirable. With regard to the course "Theater – sehen, denken, spielen" ("Theater – watch, think, play"), which is part of the Chair, we would like you to have an interest in theater didactics. We expect your active cooperation at the Institute of German Studies and Media Cultures, especially with regard to the continuing development of the teacher training programs at TUD and in this context, the cooperation with the Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB) and in academic self-administration.
In addition to a versatile profile in the didactics of German, we are looking for you as a personality with a proven track record in research in one or more of the following areas: literature-didactic teaching research, media-didactic perspectives for German teaching, German-didactic professional research. We also expect your willingness to acquire third-party funding. In addition, you should be willing to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation - for example with the “Forschungsstelle Universitätsschule” (University School Research Center). The requirements for appointment, the official duties and the administrative status are governed by §§ 59, 69, 71 of the Act on Higher Education Institutions in the Free State of Saxony (Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz – SächsHSG) and the Regulations on Duties and Responsibilities of Institutes of Higher Education (Hochschuldienstaufgabenverordnung – HSDAVO).
