At the Faculty of Psychology, the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy invites applications for the

Chair (W2) of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy

to be filled as of October 1, 2025.

Working field:

We are looking for a scientifically and professionally outstanding, qualified personality (m/f/x) with international visibility who will strengthen the institute's profile in research and teaching. The chair is co-responsible for teaching Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy in the bachelor's program "Psychology" and in the master's program "Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy".

In research, we expect a focus on experimental approaches in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, as well as a proven track record of successful acquisition of external funding. Experience in psychotherapy or intervention research and in the field of clinical neuroscience is desirable. The position requires active participation in interdisciplinary and interfaculty projects. Furthermore, we expect your research focus to align with the profile lines of the Faculty of Psychology and to the "Neurosciences" priority area within TUD's Excellence Strategy. We require relevant teaching experience in the field of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, with particular emphasis on didactic skills and a strong commitment to teaching. Candidates are expected to demonstrate willingness and ability to conduct courses in both German and English. Activities in science communication and public outreach are considered an advantage. Additionally, we expect a readiness to actively participate in academic self-administration. Engagement with TUD's affiliated institute, the Universitätsambulanz und Forschungszentrum für Psychotherapie der TU Dresden gGmbH, is also desirable. The Faculty of Psychology values transparent and replicable research and explicitly welcomes all measures that can contribute to this (e.g. "open data/materials/code", preregistrations).

Requirements:

The requirements for appointment, the official duties and the administrative status are governed by §§ 59, 69, 71 of the Act on Higher Education Institutions in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG) and the Saxon Regulation on Official Duties at Higher Education Institutions (HSDAVO). Furthermore, a license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist is required (Approbation). The call for applications is open with regard to the specialization of the Approbation.
