Our group investigates neuronal mechanisms underlying the processing of sensory information in the field of interpersonal communication, dyslexia, and (language) learning. Various neuropsychological methods are used such as f/dMRI, tDCS, EMG, eye tracking, and behavioral experiments. We are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic student assistant supporting our research, particularly an fMRI study on language learning and a study on developmental dyslexia. At the Faculty of Psychology, Institute of General Psychology, Biopsychology and Methods of Psychology, the Chair of Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience is seeking to employ a

Student Assistant (m/f/x) (8 hrs./week)

starting May 1, 2025. The position is limited until April 30, 2026. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG) as well as the Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz – SächsHSG) in conjunction with the TdL guidelines (collective bargaining association for the German federal states) for Student Assistants and Research Assistants dated February 28, 2024.

Working field:

academic support, esp. participant recruitment and study preparation, participation in data collection and analysis, involvement in conducting fMRI, dMRI, EMG, tDCS, and behavioural experiments.

Requirements:

  • student of psychology, medicine or related field
  • ability to work responsibly and independently
  • ability to work in a team
  • excellent command of German and English
  • favorable:
    o experience in conducting psychological experiments and data analysis
    o long-term involvement
