At the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Department of Hydro Sciences, Institute of Hydrobiology, the Chair of Limnology offers a project position as

Scientist or doctoral candidate (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

starting June 16, 2025. The position is limitedto March 31, 2028 with 100% or 60% of the full-time weekly hours. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). Please state your desired scope of employment as a percentage in your letter of application.

Working field:

Research activities in the field of aquatic ecology, research focus in the field of fish ecology or application of molecular tools in ecological research.

Requirements:

scientific university degree (Diploma or Master) in biology, geography or related sciences; very good English and PC skills; independent and flexible way of working; confident in dealing with public institutions and practice partners; ability to work in a team; experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research (knowledge of R). A good basic knowledge of database management and knowledge of R are desirable. In addition, basic knowledge of limnology and model-based limnology is an advantage. A willingness to network scientifically is desirable. Active participation in national and international conferences is desirable. Proof of academic performance e.g. through degree or diploma, theses and seminar papers and/or publications in the field of ecology would be an advantage.
