At the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Department of Geosciences, the Chair of Geoinformatics is seeking to employ one student as
Student Assistant / Research Assistant (m/f/x) (8hrs/week)
starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to 12 months. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG as well as the Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony - SächsHSG) in conjunction with the TdL guidelines (collective bargaining association for the German federal states) for Student Assistants and Research Assistants dated February 28, 2024.
The CHECK-PUB project is developing a prototype for the innovative integration of CODECHECK into Open Journal Systems in the context of the Open Science initiative CODECHECK. Open Journal Systems (OJS) is the world's most widely used platform for publishing scientific journals. CODECHECK provides an approach to effectively check the reproducibility of computer-based analyses as part of the publication process. We are looking for a committed and interested student studying for a Bachelor's or Master's degree. The candidate should be interested in working in an experienced team of software developers and scientists and in dialogue with various stakeholders to further develop methods and tools for scholarly communication in an explorative manner, and to expand knowledge in the field of scientific software development.
