At the Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life”, the Chair of Cell and Tissue Control (Prof. Miki Ebisuya) is looking for a highly motivated and ambitious
Technical Assistant (m/f/x)
starting as soon as possible. The position is initially limited to March 31, 2030 (time limitation pursuant to TzBfG). An extension is planned, subject to the availability of resources. The Cluster of Excellence PoL (https://physics-of-life.tu-dresden.de/en) is an interdisciplinary research center at TUD dedicated to quantitative biology and biophysics. It is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and offers a wide range of support structures, including state-of-the-art light microscopy and advanced bio-image data science facilities in the outstanding Dresden environment.

Tasks:

A key focus is the technical support of experimental work within the research project using molecular and cell biological methods, including the production of recombinant DNA constructs as well as the cultivation of mammalian cell lines. Another key focus is laboratory organization, taking into account occupational safety measures, procurement, the organization of laboratory events and workshops, as well as the training of new group members, students, and interns in the laboratory setting.

Requirements:

  • completed vocational training as a biological-technical assistant (BTA) or chemical-technical assistant (CTA) with state certification and several years of professional experience, or as a biology/chemistry laboratory technician with a final examination and equivalent skills and experience
  • knowledge of molecular and cell biology
  • good English and German skills are mandatory
  • good computer skills (MS Office, internet)
  • experience in laboratory organization is desirable
  • high motivation and ability to work in a team are required
  • professional experience in a comparable environment is preferred
