At the Faculty of Psychology, Institute of Educational and Developmental Psychology, the Chair of Psychology of Learning and Instruction is seeking to employ an academic as
Research Assistant (m/f/x)
(4-6 hrs./week)
starting as soon as possible and limited to 12 months. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG) as well as the Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz – SächsHSG) in conjunction with the TdL guidelines (collective bargaining association for the German federal states) for Student Assistants and Research Assistants dated February 28, 2024.
We are looking for a motivated research assistant to support our research activities within the CeTI Cluster of Excellence (Centre for Tactile Internet with Human-in-the-Loop) at TUD. The position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in psychological research, including the organization of studies, conducting experiments, and supporting dissemination activities, while working in a friendly and collaborative environment.

Tasks:

  • preparation of experimental materials (e.g., questionnaires, stimuli)
  • organization and scheduling of participants
  • conducting laboratory or online experiments
  • communication with participants (email coordination)
  • data entry, cleaning, and preparation
  • support with literature research
  • assistance with public outreach (e.g., girls' day)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in psychology or a related field
  • interest in scientific research
  • basic knowledge of research methods and statistics
  • careful, structured, and reliable working style
  • good organizational skills and the ability to coordinate tasks independently
  • good command of English and German (written and spoken)
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
